Gil Q. Galloway, MD, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon who is fellowship-trained in minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopy). He serves patients at Gil Q. Galloway, M.D., Inc. in Encinitas, California, serving the greater San Diego area.
After completing his undergraduate work at the University of California at Berkeley and the University of California, Irvine (UCI), Dr. Galloway went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine at UCI. He relocated to Portland, Oregon, for his residency training in general surgery, followed by his fellowship training in minimally invasive surgery, laparoscopy, and endoscopy at the Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland, Oregon.
Dr. Galloway uses the newest technology to perform all kinds of laparoscopic procedures. This very exciting surgical technique allows him to perform major and minor operations with minimal scarring and tissue injury. His patients are very thrilled when they have a rapid recovery from major surgery and go home quickly with scars they can hardly feel or see.
Dr. Galloway takes a patient-centered approach to care. He works hard creating a warm relationship with his patients and making himself available before surgery, in the hospital, and during postoperative care. He also spends time talking with his patients, explaining their surgical problems, describing their procedures, and answering all questions.
When he’s not at the office or in the operating room, Dr. Galloway is spending quality time with his wife, a pathologist, and their two sons. He also enjoys surfing, fishing, skiing, martial arts, foreign films, golf collectibles, and herpetology (study of reptiles).
